So I signed up to run in my very first 5K. What was I thinking?
I have secretly wanted to start running for several years now but just never got around to getting moving. I started the C25K program last year in Coral Springs but never got passed week 3. The key is making time to just run! I have found recent that if I don't just get up and do it in the mornings that I won't be able to do it. So I drag myself out of bed (totally NOT a morning person), get the kids off to school and go. Well, not always. That was the case today though. I usually go do an hour of Zumba then have been hitting the air conditioned gym to run on the treadmill. I tried running outside one day and couldn't take it. The humidity was killer!
So since I have an iPhone now I found a C25K app and have started using that to get ready for my upcoming race. I am only on week 2 but am feeling very motivated. I know I can complete a 5K in under an hour (see pic of day 2) so I can only improve from there. This 1st race is just a stepping stone.
