We have lived in Bangkok for 8 months now and the only sightseeing we have done on our own, other than driving to IKEA, was a trip south in October to Pattaya. I really want to get out and experience more of Thailand while we are here.
Thankfully, Ben's parents and grandmother are here for a visit. This gives us the perfect excuse to get out of the house.
What better introduction to Thai society than to learn about the architecture.
We crammed everyone, kids included, into our small car and drove through downtown traffic for about an hour until we finally reached Ancient Siam. Here they have recreated the wats, houses, and buildings from all over Thailand, and from each era.
We rented golf carts and drove through the park, stopping to take pictures. It was very overcast and threatening clouds loomed for hours but we persevered.
