You know you are in a foreign country...

... when entering the highway you run over a monitor lizard.
We had just gotten onto the on-ramp to get onto the highway when Ben locked up the brakes in an effort to miss the almost 5 ft lizard but it was too late and we straddled him. We eventually stopped and he ran out from under the car and down the on-ramp. He wasn't limping or bleeding so we let him go on his way. Good thing those guys have tough skin!
