I just realized that I forgot to blog about our trip to the Elephant Park. Ben's parents and grandmother were visiting again after taking a short jaunt to Jakarta and Bali. We planned a trip to the Samphran Elephant Ground and Zoo to fulfill his grandmother's wish to ride an elephant.
We hired a driver for the day. This was the best part to me. It meant that everyone had a seat belt and no one had to sit practically on-top of each other squeezed into our little car. It also meant that I did not have to help navigate and could just sit back and enjoy the scenery. AND everyone had an air vent, which was the most important thing of all!
We got to the park well before anyone else, around 10am, so there were no crowds at all. Most people arrive later around noon when the shows start. We got to walk around and see all of the animals/sites all alone for a while. This made things easier on Ben's grandmother. There was a group of young school girls that were chasing the boys around one of the playgrounds trying to get them to take a picture with them. I don't know that I will ever understand that fascination.
Take a look at what we did.
