That's right, a post all about food! One of my favorite things, obviously.
So, I seriously have issues with my oven. At first it didn't even work. I would turn it on and the breaker would trip. So of course I would call the guys out who are supposed to fix those things. They came out and after about 5 visits, replacing 2 of the burners, standing around scratching their heads for an hour, and telling me NOT to use the broiler, they finally thought to change out the breaker itself. Amazing! I could have done that myself, the 1st time. But that's not what my taxpayer dollars pay for. :)
Flash forward a few months and the broiler is the vain of my existence, at least in the kitchen.
Here is my latest debacle:
It's the stupid broiler! EVERY TIME I put something under the broiler, I forget about it until it's too late. This is like the 3rd time I burnt the garlic bread. This makes me SSSOOOOO mad since I like to make my own garlic bread and so much work goes into it. AND, this ruins the best part of garlic bread: the soft, mushy, buttery, garlicky center. I warned you that I liked food.
I now have a maid and she cooks for us on Mondays and Wednesdays which is so exciting to me. I don't care what she cooks as long as I don't have to 2 days a week (not including our Friday pizza nights and dinners out after our late evening Mass on Sundays).
I love it!

| I told the kids this was chicken and noodles, they actually ate it, kind-of. |
I do manage to get a few things cooked every once in a while. My new friend A is inspiring me to cook more often, she is like super-mom. I made some yummy (to me) Chicken and Dumplings a few weeks back, from scratch.
I have some cinnamon rolls rising in the frig over night. Hopefully they turn out OK.
I got the icing down, no sweat. It's these yeast things that sometimes throw me off.
| I'm so worried about these in that oven in the am. |
