I am having alot of difficulty lately trying to help everyone adjust after this last move, myself included. I thought things were going ok but the little things are starting to add up. Last Thursday Danny's teacher stopped me to tell me about an incident that happened that day in school and then once we got home I received a call from Ellie's teacher about her behavior. Granted her behavior is completely opposite of Danny's. He acts out and is loud and rude and obnoxious where as Ellie cries. She has always been the weepy sort but I guess it has gotten magnified lately somehow.
I just don't know what to do anymore. I think the other two are acting out also, in their own ways. Andy is constantly talking back and yelling at us and Benny is becoming a bully of sorts. For me this is all becoming a little overwhelming, especially since I don't quite know what to do anymore. To add to the behavior issues I now have 4 classrooms to keep up with this year. I had a taste of 3 early this year but 4 is much different. More paperwork to keep up with and more HOMEWORK to get done. That is the toughest few hours for me. They get out at 2pm and we start as soon as we get home and they have an after school snack. It can sometimes take several hours. It all depends on the attitudes at that time of day. Usually everyone is cranky and needs a nap.
I do have one trick to fall back on to decompress a little. I can send them all out to ride their bikes. No one every tells me no when I suggest this since the oldest three can now ride their big bikes without any assistance. They will stay out for hours too. I love it!
