I'm So Excited!!!!

Tomorrow night is Open House at school. I have 3 classes to visit between 6 and 6:45 and then 1 class from 7-7:45. They ask for us to NOT bring our kids for whatever reasons. This is fine with me except that my husband is out of the country and we have no family close to babysit. Ellie has Girl Scouts and I'm able to drop her off early and get her after open house but what to do with the boys? If I had to take them Ellie would be the one that would behave the best. I'm stuck.

I REALLY want/need to talk to Ellie's teacher and figure out how this year is going to go so I am doing something that I have NEVER done before: PAYING A BABYSITTER!

OMG! It's so stressful just finding one and then figuring out what the right rate is and whether I should add more because it will be for 3 kids (and MY kids at that!!!). I had the idea yesterday to ask one of the boy's teachers from last year who has teenage daughters for help. Luckily her 15 year old daughter is available and I can't be more excited. So I will drop Ellie off, pick up the babysitter, show her the ropes, go to Open House, drop the babysitter off, pick up Ellie, then send everyone to bed late. I can't wait!

I only wish it was for something fun but duty calls.

Halloween already?!

So I had what I think is a brilliant idea the other day. The kids were already talking about halloween costumes. Since there are four of them and they really really REALLY like Angry Birds I thought "I can make Angry Birds costumes". How awesome would that be. Each kid would get their own different bird, or in Danny's case he would get the Pig King because he likes green. I think it would be awesome! Now to work out the details to see if it is actually feasible while keeping it a secret from the kids. I told them I had an idea for their costumes but didn't tell them what it was.
Fingers crossed all works out and I can keep the secret.

School's IN and I'm OUT!!!!

Well, school started back last week. This year Ellie is in 3rd grade, Daniel and Ben in 2nd grade, and Andy started Kindergarten. My, where has the time gone?! This is the first year that everyone is in school ALL DAY! That in itself is something to celebrate but I don't know when I will get to do that. So far I have been spending my days AT SCHOOL volunteering for different things here and there. I like doing it but I need to get used to being so busy during the day (outside of the laundry, dishes, house...). I'm exhausted in the afternoons usually around the time everyone gets home and we sit down to tackle homework, which on a good day only takes around 2hours. I like being involved and knowing what is going on in the school so I just need to give it a little more time and my body will adjust.

My calendar on the other hand is about to explode!
